Andrea Cole- Owner and Trainer
Powder View Stables
Andrea Cole has been an avid equestrian since the young age of 7.
From early it was quite evident that horses were her  passion in life,
and it became a goal to make sure her future involve them as much
as possible. Through many years of great instruction Andrea became
an accomplished rider, and soon went on to pursue her goals of
teaching and training. Andrea studied for two years at The Ohio State
University's Agricultural Technical Institute under an Equine Science
Major. While in college she gained a wealth of experience as an
assistant instructor at a very busy lesson and boarding barn. At this
farm one of Andrea's biggest mentors Cheryl Dye helped her
prepare for certification through the Certified Horsemanship
Association (CHA). Andrea attended the CHA clinic in 2005 and came
home as a Level 4 Master English Riding Instructor, which is the
highest level within the CHA for English disciplines. Andrea currently
is pursuing personal goals as a Dressage rider, and is bringing along
her newest mount Morafic(aka Midas) a 7 year old Halflinger. Midas
and Andrea are currently under the instruction of Lexi Meyers who is
helping them along their way to a great career in the Dressage ring!

Teaching Philosophy
"When it comes to my students I strive to teach each rider young
and old how to safely and effectively handle and ride these wonderful
animals. I want to create a bond and partnership that will last a
lifetime. At Powder View Stables we raise up respectful "horse
people", people that treat these animals with respect and integrity
and let their patience and kind way show through in everything they
do. It is important to not to create riders who chase ribbons but riders
who look for that moment when a horse throughly enriches their life
and teaches them a  lesson. That to me is the reason to be involved
with horses; They are our greatest teachers!"

Training Philosophy
"Building a solid foundation to work with is my first goal when working
with a new horse. Each horse is expected to have the absolute best
respect and ground manners before moving on to being mounted. I
am a firm believer in not rushing a horse's training but progressing
the training scale as the horse succeeds and builds their mental and
physical capacity for harder work. Most of all I feel that regardless of
the horse's training history or background, they deserve a patient
kind hand, and an opportunity to succeed at the discipline they are
best suited for."
George Cole- Owner

While George may not be the next Olympic hopeful, or even a
rider at that, he certainly plays a big role in life at Powder View.
From building our barn, to helping with all the chores and
everything in between! Life would not exist at our barn without
him!
Shannon Carpenter- Consultant/Assistant

Shannon is a new member of our team here at Powder View.
She brings a wealth of knowledge when it comes to the care,
nutrition and the general well being of all our horses here at the
farm. She is always willing to lend a helping hand, give advice or
make you laugh, and we are extremely happy to have her here!
While she may be taking a break from riding to pursue other
things she is always willing to offer advice or encouragement in
many situations..
Jim and Linda Meoak

Jim and Linda, are Andrea's parents and have been her number
one fans, and biggest supporters from the beginning. When their 7
year old daughter told them she wanted to train horses when she
grew up, they believed her and helped her on her way. Through
weekly riding lessons and leasing horses, Andrea made her way
into horse ownership. She is thankful they never bought her a
horse as a child because she claims that is why she doesn't take
any of it for granted. They continue to support her and come to
shows. Jim is pictured here, sorry we don't have any pictures of
Linda yet!
